The Law of the Harvest
Elder Uchtdorf mentioned the Law of the Harvest -- Whatsoever a man soweth, so shall he reap. I thought that meshed interestingly with some personal study from a day or two ago from Alma 41:7-8 -- that men are their own judges, whether to do good or evil and the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved. The footnote references 2 Nephi 2:26 (men are free to act for themselves); Alma 42:27 (whosoever will may come and partake but none are compelled and at the last day it shall be restored to him according to his deeds); and Helaman 14:30 (ye are permitted to act for yourselves, for God hath made you free).
The key is that men will be judged by their DEEDS, i.e., works, and not merely their professions of faith. Men are free to exercise faith and experiment upon the word (I particularly like Elder Uchtdorf's admonition to "get in on the action for ourselves" (maybe that's not an exact quote, but that's what my notes say)) and reap the blessings of righteousness, or not. It seems that we become our own judges by our actions--including every idle word to refer to one of the Priesthood session talks.
